Martje was a blind seer on the streets of Val Alorn. She along with several augers had predicted Barak's doom, although she misunderstood the meaning of the vision, and tormented Barak with it. When she met Garion she had some sort of understanding of his "inheritance." Her visions were described as cloudy.
Polgara became tired of her ravings, and restored her sight. This cut off her supernatural visions, and they left Martje wailing in despair.
"Martje sees what she sees," the old woman said. "The mark of thy Doom is still upon thee, great Lord Barak. When it comes to thee, thou shalt remember the words of old Martje." -Pawn of Prophecy
