Geran II (4071-unknown) was an heir to the Rivan Line, the son of Alten and Ellette. He was named for his great-grandfather, Geran I, but had none of his fortune; left orphaned when a plague killed off both of his parents in 4080, he was raised by his aunt Polgara, who, unable to find him a tradesman under whom he could apprentice, instead trained him as a physician. He was not especially gifted in medicine, and he and his descendants were far less prominent than their forebears. At some point, he married an unnamed woman, and managed to produce one son and four daughters.
