Eilbrig is the son-in-law of Faldor. He is married to Anhelda and they live in the city of Sendar, where Eilbrig is a minor functionary in a commercial house. They only visit Faldor once a year to remain on speaking terms, although they have a certain amount of contempt for Faldor and/or his farm and/or farmers. They only joined the Erastide communal meal at Faldor's insistence.
Eilbrig has a high-pitched nasal voice, is overdressed, and is supercilious. Eilbrig let the sentimentality of the sanctity of Erastide interfere with business. Eilbrig and Anhelda, in the Pawn of Prophecy, only wish to talk to the Murgo visiting Faldor's Farm "as the only one worthy of their attention."
